About Us: Meet your Hype Girls


Sara Rafuse, Ed.D. (she/her) has a doctorate in leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University and a background in mental health counseling. Sara has served professionally as a coach for both individuals and teams since 2016, and believes wholeheartedly in the transformative nature of the coaching process. Coaching provides an unmatched level of personal attention, accountability, and guidance for individuals wanting to change their behavior, and ultimately their lives.
Sara currently coaches full time and works with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. She is highly skilled at meeting people where they are, and helping individuals show up in their own lives as the best versions of themselves. Sara also teaches at Virginia Commonwealth University and provides a variety of coaching and professional development services for the MELMAC Education Foundation based out of her home state of Maine. When she is not teaching or working with clients one-on-one, Sara can be found cooking with whole foods or adventuring in Richmond, Virginia with her wife, Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn Rafuse, MSN, FNP-BC (she/her) is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in obesity management, infectious disease, clinical research, and IV hydration. While working for several years at VCU's Level 1 Trauma Center in the Surgical Trauma ICU, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. She earned board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Kaitlyn is a provider who cares deeply about empowering people to take control of their health. She is passionate about helping patients develop routines and meaningful lifestyle changes that will help improve quality of life, including improving mental health and chronic medical conditions.
